Primary Division-Hong Kong Curriculum
1.Offers courses from Grade 1 to Grade 6.
2.Uses English as the primary language of instruction, supplemented with Mandarin.
3.All primary students who meet the basic requirements and pass the school's evaluation are eligible for direct admission to our secondary section (Hong Kong curriculum).
The Primary Section - Hong Kong Curriculum advocates for holistic education, promoting the development of students in moral, intellectual, physical, social, and aesthetic aspects. We provide students with diverse and meaningful learning experiences, ensuring they continue to grow both inside and outside the classroom. At the same time, we place a strong emphasis on developing generic skills, preparing students to become "leaders of tomorrow." The curriculum highlights include, but are not limited to:
1.A complete Hong Kong education experience: The curriculum is designed according to the Hong Kong Education Bureau's framework and objectives. We use Hong Kong textbooks, with over 80% of teachers from Hong Kong, ensuring seamless integration with the Hong Kong curriculum.
2.Comprehensive basic education: The curriculum covers all fundamental subjects, with an emphasis on subject integration and broad, multi-dimensional assessments of learning outcomes.
3.Bilingual and balanced language teaching: We strive to create a bi-literate, trilingual learning environment, cultivating listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in both English and Chinese.
4.Flexible and varied teaching methods: These include group presentations, live TV broadcasts, interviews, debates, drama, crafts, market stalls, and more.
5.Personalised enrichment activities: Enrichment classes, extracurricular activities, and class management activities are provided to meet diverse student needs.
6.Character development and positive guidance: We conduct prefect, praise cards, flag-raising teams, moral ambassadors, and other guidance and moral education activities.
Secondary Division-Hong Kong Curriculum
1.Offers courses from Grade 7 to Grade 12 (G7 to G12), with Grade 12 (G12) students sitting for the HKDSE Examination.
2.English is used as the medium of instruction (MOI)except for subjects in the Chinese languageKey Learning Area. Some subjects, such as Ethics, Life and Society, and Physical Education, are taught bilingually based on actual needs.
3.The curriculum is rigorously designedin line withthe Hong Kong Education Bureau's framework and objectives, with the addition of school-based curriculum and activities to accommodate learning differences, cultivate positive values and attitudes, strengthen generic skills, andhelp students achieve whole-person development.
4.Subject and cross-curricular activities are held on an ongoing basis, enabling students to apply and practise skills. At the same time, dozens of student-led academic teamshave been set up. Student leaders are given the opportunities to plan, promote, and organise activities to celebrate special festivals andlearning platforms to foster leadership abilities and generic skills.
5.The school employs a diverse school-based, continuous assessment model, supported by a rigorous examination system and quality assurance framework. Regular data analysis is conducted to comprehensively monitor students' learning outcomes and make informed planning.
6.We focus on the quality of classroom teaching, designing student-centred teaching methods andself-directed learning schemes. Both in-class and extracurricular activities emphasise reading, and science subjects place significant emphasis onpractical work such as experiments. Through inquiry-based learning, students develop creative thinking, independent thinking skills, and analytical abilities.
7.Students fromGrades 7 to 12 can progress directly to the next level within the school. Upon graduation from Grade 12 (G12), students have the following destinations for further education:
7.1.Hong Kong
The school is a registered examination centre for the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA). Students sit for the HKDSEexamination as day school candidates, and with their HKDSE results, they can apply for undergraduate programmesto Hong Kong's top universities through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS).
7.2.Mainland of China
Students can apply to universities in Mainland of China through the Ministry of Education's Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions. As of July 2024, 138 universities in Mainland of China, including prestigious institutions like Peking University and Tsinghua University, accept HKDSE candidates for admission.
7.3.Overseas
Students can use their HKDSE results to apply for undergraduate programmesto over 300 universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, Japan, the United States, Canada, and other countries and regions.
