Mainland Curriculum

Primary Division–Mainland Curriculum

1.Offers courses from Grade 1 to Grade 6.

2.Provides a bi-literate, trilingual environment: Mandarin and English are both used as languages of instruction. Subjects such as English, Mathematics, Music, Visual Arts, and STEM are taught using Hong Kong textbooks, with shared teaching staff for both Mainland and Hong Kong curricula, all taught in English. Chinese Language, National Studies, Moral and Legal Education, Mental Health, and Physical Education are taught in Mandarin.

3.All primary students who meet the basic requirements and pass the school's evaluation are eligible for direct admission to our secondary section (Mainland curriculum).

The Primary Section - Mainland Curriculum follows the framework of China's nine-year compulsory education, ensuring students receive a comprehensive foundational education that prepares them for future exams like Zhongkao (Junior High School Scholastic Aptitude Examination) and Gaokao (National College Entrance Exam). Our curriculum integrates bilingual teaching, retaining the strengths of Mainland subjects such as Chinese and Mathematics while incorporating elements of the Hong Kong curriculum. Curriculum highlights include, but are not limited to:

1.Compliance with the nine-year compulsory education: Teaching is based on the curriculum requirements of the Ministry of Education, with a focus on positive guidance, moral education, and national education activities.

2.Focus on bilingual education: The library offers bilingual picture books for different age groups, helping students develop bilingual reading habits from an early age.

3.Engaging and diverse subject activities: The curriculum includes a wide range of activities such as club activities, themed festivals, project-based learning, independent research, and performances.

4.Activities to foster individual interests: Students can freely choose after-school activities, interest clubs, and sports, allowing them to explore their personal passions.

5.Cultural heritage activities: Traditional Chinese culture is emphasised through courses in calligraphy and classical Chinese studies, with daily writing practice and the opportunity to participate in various traditional cultural events.

6. International courses to broaden horizons: We organise cross-cultural exchange activities and offer the option to learn second foreign languages such as Spanish, German, and French.

Secondary Division-Mainland Curriculum

1.Offers courses from Grade 7 to Grade 9.

2.Uses Mandarin as the primary language of instruction: Subjects are taught in either English or Mandarin, depending on the needs of the subject.
