Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua Xinyi School (PKXYS) was established in 2021 and is committed to its educational philosophy of "nurturing brilliant generations". It is a 16-year through-train international boarding school that offers education from kindergarten to senior secondary school.
The kindergarten offers four levels: Pre-Nursery, K1, K2, and K3.
The primary and secondary sections offer three curricula:
● Mainland Curriculum: Grades 1-9, providing a 9-year through-train education
● Hong Kong Curriculum: Primary G1 to Secondary G6, providing a 12-year through-train education
● International Curriculum: IGCSE-DSE integrated curriculum
, followed by A-Level courses or the International Foundation Year (IFY) programme
Background
PKXYS, as a model school for Shenzhen–Hong Kong educational integration, is a significant initiative fully supported by both the Shenzhen and Hong Kong governments, creating strong conditions for deeper regional integration and for enriching youth exchanges between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
In 2020, during the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, President XI Jinping emphasised the importance of "promoting wider exchanges and deeper integration among young people from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao to strengthen their sense of belonging to the motherland." Against this backdrop, a strategic cooperation memorandum was signed between the Longhua District People's Government of Shenzhen, Hong Kong Pui Kiu College, and Shenzhen Xinyi Holdings Group. This agreement formalised the establishment of a school in Longhua.
In February 2021, the signing and launch ceremony of the school took place simultaneously in both Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Mrs. Carrie LAM CHENG Yuet-ngor, then Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (GBM, GBS, JP), and Mr. WANG Weizhong, then Vice Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee, both delivered speeches at the online event.
By September 2021, the school's first teaching building was completed at an astonishing pace—"Shenzhen Speed"—and the school officially opened, just 208 days after the signing of the agreement. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Mrs. Carrie LAM (GBM, GBS, JP), then Chief Executive of the HRSAR, and Mr. WANG Weizhong, then Vice Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee.
Features
l It is the first international boarding school in the Mainland of China to offer three curricula, namely mainland curriculum, Hong Kong curriculum, and international curriculum. Students are required to board starting from Grade 7.
● It is the first 16-year through-train international school in the Mainland of China which is directly organised by a Hong Kong educational foundation, offering education from kindergarten to senior secondary school.
● It is the first school in the Mainland of China to adopt an operational model aligned with Hong Kong's subsidised or direct subsidy scheme schools. This model has been coordinated by the Hong Kong Education Bureau and confirmed by the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation (HKCAA) through external evaluation.
● The school is among the first in the Mainland of China and the first and only Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) Centre in Shenzhen.
● The school has been awarded the title of Guangdong Provincial Model Group for Ethnic Unity and Progress.

PKXYS is located in the centre of Shenzhen, adjacent to Shenzhen North Railway Station and Metro Station "Shenzhen North Railway Station" in Longhua District. The school covers a total area of 45,000 square metres, with a built-up area of 200,000 square metres.

Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua Xinyi Kindergarten is dedicated to nurturing enthusiastic, inquisitive, and well-rounded children through bilingual education, inquiry-based learning, and holistic development, underpinned by the philosophy of invitational education.
I. The kindergarten offers four grade levels, from Pre-Nursery (PN) to K3, for children aged 2-6, with separate classes for Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
II. We implement a dual-class teacher system, with each class having a Chinese-speaking class teacher, an English-speaking class teacher, a foreign teacher, and a carer.
III. The campus covers approximately 6000 square metres, with facilities including the "Tiangong Space Station" Classroom, a cooking classroom, a traffic safety learning zone, and an outdoor play area. In addition, shared facilities such as the school's outdoor football field, theatre, and lecture hall are also available for use.
IV. All kindergarten students who meet the basic requirements and pass the school's evaluation are eligible for direct admission to our primary school.
