New school year, New journey

校園舊貌換新顏，新舊同學匯聚一堂，同學們的到來讓學校每一處角落都充滿了歡聲笑語。爲了迎接同學的歸來，全體教職員工都做好了周密部署和充足準備，確保新學年伊始，一切井然有序。

With the campus renovated, old and new students alike gathered together once more. The influx of students filled every corner of the school with joy and laughter. To welcome students returning to school, all staff and faculty have meticulously prepared to ensure that the new school year begins smoothly.

9月4日，校長和老師們早早地就來到校門口迎接同學。物業同事也協調指揮著迎新工作，每個崗位的工作人員都殷切期盼著孩子們的到來。

On September 4th, the principal and teachers arrived early at the school gate to welcome the students. The school's property management team also spared no effort in coordinating the orientation activities, just as every staff who eagerly awaited the children's arrival.

上午八時，全體返校學生安靜地坐在教室裏，認識新的老師和新的同學。各班班主任向同學們進行了詳細介紹，例如：校園安全、課程特點、考評要求、課外活動等，在老師精心準備的講座中，同學們聚精會神地聆聽著老師的諄諄教誨，獲益頗多。

At 8 a.m. in the morning, all returning students sat quietly in their classrooms, familiarizing themselves with their new teachers and classmates. Class teachers provided detailed introductions, covering campus safety, curriculum highlights, assessment requirements, extracurricular activities, and more. Students listened to teachers' carefully prepared lectures and valuable guidance in rapt attention, and benefited greatly.

厚植學生家國情懷

‧齊上開學第一課‧

To immerse students in a sense of patriotism, together we begin the first lesson of the new school year

開學首日，龍華區全區14萬學子共同開啟一堂特別的「開學第一課」——「愛國情 強國志」。這堂課由本校教師關沛俊執教，以《國家主席習近平給香港培僑中學高一年級全體學生的回信》為教育契機。龍華高級中學教育集團高中部、龍華區玉龍學校和本校學生代表共36人齊聚同上這堂課，深港兩地學子在課堂上加強了彼此之間的思想交流、同根同心的民族認同感。透過生動鮮活的形式，同學們深刻學習習近平主席回信的思想精髓，牢記習近平主席殷切期望，厚植家國情懷。

On the first day of school, all 140,000 students of Longhua District collectively joined a special 'First Lesson of the School Year', which entailed 'Love for the Country, and Strong National Aspiration.' This lesson was conducted by our school teacher, Guan Peijun, using the letter from President Xi Jinping to all first-year students at Pui Kiu Middle School as an educational opportunity.

A total of 36 representatives from the Shenzhen Longhua High School Education Group (high school section), Longhua District Yu Long School, and our school came together to attend this class. This class allowed students from both Shenzhen and Hong Kong to strengthen their shared senses of national identity through mutual exchange of ideas. Through vivid and lively forms of teaching, students gained a profound understanding of the essence of President Xi Jinping's reply and kept in mind his earnest expectations, thus nurturing a deep love for their country."

The Opening Ceremony Sets Sail for a New Journey, Aspiring to Compose a Song of Distinguishment

9月5日上午十點，本校隆重舉行了2023-2024學年第一學期的開學典禮。伴隨激昂的國歌聲響起，全體師生莊嚴肅立，鮮艷的五星紅旗映照著青春的激情和奮鬥的夢想。

At 10 a.m. on September 5th, a grand opening ceremony was held for the first term of the 2023-2024 school year in our school. Accompanied by the stirring national anthem, all teachers and students stood solemnly, with the vibrant national flag shining upon the students with youthful passion and ambitious dreams.

校監曾鈺成以習近平主席的回信為主題，勉勵培僑學子立志篤行，努力成為國家可堪大任的棟樑之才。

TSANG Yoksing, the School Supervisor, focusing on President Xi Jinping's reply, encouraged the students to set lofty goals and strive to become outstanding talents worthy of serving the nation.

總校長吳育智寄語同學們在學業上追求卓越，在不同的活動中培養領袖才能，務求錘煉過硬本領。

Principal Wu Yukchi urged the students to pursue excellence in their studies, cultivate leadership through various activities, and endeavor to refine their abilities.

學生代表9M1班劉亦芳和11H1班文深儀同學分享了暑假期間的交流心得。本校的學生在暑假足跡遍佈祖國的大江南北——深圳、香港、成都、鄭州、西安、蘭州、敦煌、濟南、泰安等。一張又一張的研學圖片展示出同學們豐碩的學習成果，以行動實踐國家主席對培僑學生的殷殷殷殷囑託——讀萬卷書與走萬里路結合。送君走馬去，遙似踏花行。暑假研學之行讓學生獲取了知識，開拓了視野，更重要的是更直觀感受到中華文明的璀璨奪目，也更進一步理解了中華文明因交流而多彩，因互鑒而豐富。

Student representatives, Liu Yifang from Class 9M1, and WEN Sum Yee from Class 11H1, shared their exchange experiences during the summer vacation. Our students left their footprints all over the country during the summer vacation - from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Lanzhou, Dunhuang, Jinan, to Tai'an and more. Countless study tour photos showcased the fruitful learning outcomes of our students, demonstrating their active fulfillment of President Xi Jinping's earnest expectations for PKXYS students, also the combination of learning and practicing. Such is a journey with enrichment! The summer study tours enabled students to acquire knowledge, broaden their horizons, and, most importantly, gave them a more intuitive experience of the brilliance of Chinese civilization. It further deepened their understanding of how Chinese civilization has become diverse through exchange and enriched through mutual learning.

典禮尾聲，6M2班同學以《中國話》和《厲害了，我的國》兩首詩歌朗誦，表逹他們對祖國的熱愛和身為中國人的驕傲。

At the end of the ceremony, students from Class 6M2 recited two poems, 'Chinese Language' and 'My Country is Amazing,' expressing their love for our Motherland and taking pride in being Chinese.

中學部合唱團同學以兩文三語歌唱《明天會更好》，唱出新學年的期盼和祝福。

The Secondary Section Choir sang 'Tomorrow will be Better' in two languages and three dialects, conveying their hopes and blessings for the new school year.

逐光之幸‧行將致遠

To the fortunate bearers of light, we are embarking on a great journey

同學們，讓我們一起在新的起點上揚帆起航。願心中有光，身邊有暖。在充滿希望的九月，成爲努力上進的趕路人。相信我們曾披星戴月走過的路，終有一日會繁花遍地。

Dear students, let us set sail from this new starting point together. May there be light in our hearts and warmth around us. In this September of hope, let us become travelers on the path of continuous progress. The roads we once traveled, under the starry skies and through the hardships, will surely spread with flowers one day.
