秉承「培育出类拔萃新生代」的理念，本校向来着重培养学生的领袖才能，期望透过举办不同的活动为学生创造舞台，让学生尽展才能。今年本校中学部的课外活动迎来新的里程碑——成立学生会及四社制度。

Adhering to the concept of "Nature Brilliant New Generations," our school has always emphasized the development of students' leadership abilities. We hope to provide students with various opportunities through organizing different activities, allowing them to fully demonstrate their talents. This year, a new milestone has been reached in the secondary division's extracurricular activities - The Establishment of Student Union and 4 House System.

学生会 Student Union

九月开学初，中学课外活动部已向全体中学生介绍学生会的理念、架构以及选举制度。同学们对于有机会成立内阁参选学生会均感雀跃。经过接近一个月的筹备，最终确立有三个参选内阁，分别是一号海燕、二号裕翎、三号执灯。内阁成员来自香港、内地及国际课程。内阁确立后，各成员紧密合作，各出心思，设计不同的政纲宣传海报，展开宣传和拉票，务求能吸引校园的每一位同学，争取得到他们手上重要的一票。

In early September when school started, the Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) Department of the secondary division introduced the concept, structure, and election system of the Student Union to all secondary students. The students were excited about the opportunity to run for positions in the Student Union. After nearly a month of preparation, three candidate cabinets, namely Cabinet No. 1 "Haiyan", Cabinet No. 2 "Yuling", and Cabinet No. 3 "Zhideng", were finally formed and ready for the election. Cabinet members come from Hong Kong, mainland and international curriculums. After that, members worked closely together, brainstorming and designing different campaign posters. They launched campaigns and canvassed for votes, aiming to attract every student on campus and seek for their significant support.

9月27日，学生会选举的大日子来临。为让候选内阁更深入地向同学介绍其参选理念和政纲，在投票前安排了一场竞选辩论。剧场内，三组候选内阁成员在台上准备就绪，信心百倍，蓄势待发。全校中学生或在现场，或在课室，支持自己心仪的内阁，为台上的同学欢呼打气，还有同学高举自制标语以示支持。

September 27th was the big day of the Student Union election. In order to allow the candidate cabinets to introduce their campaign concepts and platforms to the students in a more in-depth manner before the voting, a campaign debate was arranged. Inside the theatre hall, members of the three candidate cabinets stood on stage, well-prepared, brimming with confidence, and ready to present. All secondary students, either as the audience in the school Theatre or in their classrooms, supported their favoured cabinets. They cheered and encouraged the students on stage, and some even held up signs to show their support.

竞选辩论开始，内阁成员依次在论坛上进行发言。他们介绍了各自的成员、参选政纲、竞选优势和未来展望。理念、政纲或不同，但每一位内阁成员均希望藉着学生会的平台，担任学生与学校的沟通桥梁，建立学生对学校更强的归属感；举办更多有意义的活动，丰富同学的校园生活，为学校注入新的活力；促进学生对社会的关心，成长为出类拔萃新生代领袖。

The campaign debate commenced, with members from each cabinet taking turns to present. They introduced their members, campaign platforms, competitive advantages and future prospects. While their ideologies and platforms may differ, each cabinet member aspires to utilize the platform of the Student Union to serve as a bridge between students and the school. They aim to foster a stronger sense of belonging among students to the school, organize more meaningful activities to enrich campus life and infuse the school with renewed vitality. Furthermore, they endeavour to cultivate in students a heightened awareness of societal issues, nurturing them to become outstanding and leading youth.

竞选辩论精彩连连，先是内阁质询环节。三个竞选内阁互相提问，唇枪舌战，以论会友之际，期求胜己胜人，好不精彩！再是台下发问，同学积极踊跃，提出了自己的问题，一针见血，可谓是对三方候选内阁临场应变的一场考验。兵来将挡，水来土掩，提问者与回应者你来我往，充分展现了内阁成员的临场反应及应对能力。台上妙语连珠，台下掌声阵阵，现场氛围高涨。

The campaign debate was filled with excitement, starting with interpellation among the cabinets. The three competing cabinets questioned each other, engaging in a fierce verbal battle, aiming to outshine one another. It was a spectacular display of wit and rhetoric as they sought to prove their mettle. Next, the audience had their turn to ask questions. Students were enthusiastic and raised their own inquiries. This can be considered a real-time test of the three candidate cabinets' ability to respond on the spot. Questions were met with strategic responses, showcasing the cabinet members' quick reaction and adaptability. On stage, eloquent words flowed seamlessly, and met with thunderous applause from the audience, creating an electrifying atmosphere in the venue.

辩论过后，终于迎来了同学最期待的投票环节。每位中学部学生均有一票，选出一个支持的内阁。同学手执选票，井然有序地进行投票。投票过程中，不少同学骄傲地举起自己的选票，因为这一票不仅代表着对心仪内阁的支持，同时也代表着学生参与学校活动的喜悦和对学生会的认同感。

After the debate, it finally reached the moment that every student had been eagerly anticipating - the voting. Each secondary student had one vote to choose and support their preferred cabinet. With their voting slips in hand, the students proceeded to cast their votes in an orderly manner. During the voting process, many students proudly raised their voting slips. This vote not only represented their support for the favoured cabinet but also symbolized the joy of participating in school activities and a sense of identity to the Student Union.

点票环节在同日放学后进行。由黄腾达校长、温霈国校长顾问、马迪副校长、沈晓仪副校长与王慧玲助理校长监督开启票箱，三个候选内阁成员在现场作见证。黄校长和温顾问发言勉励同学，道出「经验重于结果」、「有容乃大」的寄语，在座的候选内阁成员深受啓发。

Vote counting took place after school on the same day. Principal Mr. Wong Tang Tat, Principal Advisor Mr. Wan Pui Kwok, Deputy Principals Ms. Ma Di and Mr. Shen Xiaoyi, and Assistant Principal Ms. Wong Wai Ling opened the ballot boxes, with members of the three candidate cabinets witnessing the event. Principal Mr. Wong and Advisor Mr. Wan delivered speeches to inspire the students, emphasizing that "Experience is more important than results" and " A Broad Mind Achieves Greatness". The candidate cabinet members were deeply moved and inspired.

经过严谨的点算，选举结果揭晓，二号内阁「裕翎」以580票当选本校第一届学生会干事会。宣布结果的一刻，全场掌声雷动，祝贺「裕翎」当选。

After a rigorous counting, the election results were announced. Candidate cabinet No. 2 "Yuling" won with 580 votes and became the first Executive Committee of the Student Union. The moment the results were announced, the whole venue erupted in applause, congratulating "Yuling" on their victory.

社 House

同时，本校也正式成立了四社──火星社、金星社、水星社、木星社，这分别对应了本校体育服的四种颜色: 火星社-红色；金星社-黄色；水星社-蓝色; 木星社-绿色。九月底，经过筹组社干事会及严谨的面试，顺利选拔出四社社长及干事。社干事会成员来自香港、内地、国际课程，期待三个课程的社干事们携手合作为同学们筹备不同的社际比赛和活动，展现本校融合的特色。

Meanwhile, four Houses were officially established here, respectively Mars House, Venus House, Mercury House, and Jupiter House, resonating with the four colors of our school's sports uniforms: Mars House - red; Venus House - yellow; Mercury House - blue; Jupiter House - green. At the end of September, through the organization and rigorous interviews, we successfully selected the presidents and committee members for the four houses from Hong Kong, the Mainland, and the International Curriculum. We look forward to the collaboration of committee members from these three curriculums, working together to prepare different inter-house competitions and activities for the students, showcasing integration as our unique feature.

就职典礼 Inauguration Ceremony

10月11日，第一届学生会干事会及社干事会就职典礼举行。当选学生会会长10H3陈洁盈带领全体干事在校长们监誓下，庄严地宣誓就任。全体干事承诺会竭力服务学校，担当师生桥梁。四社干事也在四位新任社长──11H2朱浩城、11H1韩若凌、11H1曹允执、11H2何俊言──带领下宣誓就任。

On 11th October, the inauguration ceremony of the first Student Union Executive Committee and House Committees was held. All members of the Student Union Executive Committee, led by President-elect 10H3 Chen Kit Ying, were solemnly sworn in by the principals. They pledged to serve the school with dedication and act as the bridge between teachers and students. The House Committees were also inaugurated under the leadership of the four new House Captains – 11H2 Chu Ho Shing, 11H1 Han Yeuk Ling, 11H1 Cao Wan Chup and 11H2 He Jun Yan.

「人生豪迈心不改，壮志雄心有梦在。」经过精彩的竞选和选拔过程，培侨信义学校第一届学生会及社干事会于2023年10月11日顺利就任。期待我们这群满怀抱负、朝气蓬勃的学生领袖能在崭新的舞台上逐梦、大放光彩。

Life is ambitious and ambition facilitates dreams. After intense preparation and competition, the first Student Union Executive Committees and House Committees of Puikiu Xinyi School were successfully inaugurated on 11th October, 2023. We look forward to the sensational performance in pursuing the dreams of these ambitious and vibrant student leaders on this brand-new stage.
