Nezha's Spring Festival Adventures: Fun and Traditions at Chentangguan Village

As the Year of the Horse unfolds, joy fills the air, and the spirit of the New Year pervades every corner! At Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua Xinyi Kindergarten, red silk ribbons flutter and lanterns hang from the trees, while the laughter of children blends with the vibrant colours of the season. The teachers have meticulously planned a festive "Chentangguan Village Lunar New Year Fair" themed event, marking the start of a magical, Nezha-inspired adventure for the children.

The legendary birthplace of Nezha, Chentangguan, quietly emerges in the school, with the glowing Universe Ring and Fire-tipped Spear lighting up the playground, reflecting the children's innocent smiles. This year, the kindergarten brings traditional myths to life, awakening the children's heroic dreams. A series of activities—from tossing, crafting, to building—brings traditional culture to the fingertips, while parents and children work together to create warm moments in this exciting journey. Every moment is filled with the joy of growth, and each detail is steeped in culture, making ancient traditions both accessible and joyous. Fun-filled stalls and challenges invite little Nezhas to unlock their own "powers" as they celebrate the new year and embrace good fortune.

The New Year's Wishing Wall

Children write their wishes and draw colourful blessings on this special wall—a site of joyful expression. With their boundless imagination, they depict their hopes for the year ahead, sharing the happiness of giving, and receiving simple, heartfelt wishes. Though the wall may be temporary, the warmth and anticipation it carries will remain etched in their memories, accompanying them into the year to come.

Nezha's Springtime Lantern Challenge

The little ones, dressed as playful Nezhas, take on the lantern balancing challenge, carrying red lanterns and racing through an obstacle course. They must keep their lanterns steady while navigating hurdles and balance beams, striving to reach the finish line. The red lanterns shine bright, symbolising the New Year's cheer, while each successful finish brings laughter and a sense of achievement.

Fire-tipped Spear Tossing Competition

This is a modern twist on the ancient pitch-pot game, where children test their hand-eye coordination and concentration in a fun and engaging way. Inspired by Nezha's Fire-tipped Spear, this activity merges traditional culture with playful excitement. Through repeated attempts, the children discover the essence of perseverance and courage, embodying the spirit of Nezha in each throw.

Wind Fire Wheels Fun

In a delightful game, the children, as little Nezhas, push "wind fire wheels" towards a fortune vase. They explore the mysteries of power and angles while gaining an understanding of traditional cultural symbols. The interaction also helps them develop their language skills, as they describe and communicate during the game. Each successful hit brings a cheer, building their confidence and deepening their connection to the traditions of the season.

Nezha's Drum Challenge

The drums are ready, and the children's first brave beats of the year echo through the air. With each drum strike, they display their determination and energy. Whether it's the determination to finish the course or the focus when striking the drum, every moment is a reminder of their inner strength and spirit, just like Nezha himself. We believe that true power lies in every bold attempt and every bright, joyful laugh.

Nezha Leads the Fortune Horses

The children push colourful fortune horses, each carrying wishes for the New Year, embodying Nezha's courageous spirit. Every push and every turn is a moment of joy, determination, and vitality, teaching the children the value of persistence and teamwork while celebrating the hope that the New Year brings.

Rolling Fun with Magic Balls

The "magic balls" roll on, symbolic of both the traditional Lantern Festival and Nezha's adventurous spirit. In this game, the children work together, building focus and perseverance while learning the joys of collaboration. Each roll and each successful goal become lasting milestones of their growth.

Nezha's Lucky Grab

With quick fingers, the children take on the fun challenge of grabbing lucky items, symbolising good fortune for the New Year. As they carefully pick up these little treasures, they refine their fine motor skills and concentration. Each successful grab boosts their sense of achievement, and with every challenge they complete, they grow a little more skilled and confident. We wish them a year filled with dexterous hands, smooth success, and plenty of joy!

Nezha's Hula Hoop Adventure

Dressed as lively little Nezhas, the children embark on an obstacle course while keeping their hula hoops balanced. It's a true test of agility and determination as they strive to "capture Nezha's fortune", with each steady step marking progress and each cheer adding to the growing spirit of the New Year.

The Little Horse Treasure Hunt

The horse symbolises success in the New Year, and this treasure hunt, filled with hidden surprises, takes the children on a journey of discovery. With varying levels of difficulty, the game encourages them to develop their observational skills, fine motor coordination, and patience. Every puzzle solved, every piece found, is a small victory on their journey of growth.

Nezha's Luck Smash

In a lively challenge, the children, dressed as Nezha, use soft sandbags to hit red "fortune" targets, unleashing good luck for the New Year. They must aim carefully, throwing the bags with precision, all while embracing the thrill of the game. Every hit brings not just good fortune, but a sense of joyful determination.

DIY Candied Hawthorn

In this sweet treat activity, children make their own candied hawthorn skewers—a traditional snack that blends delicious sour and sweet. As they dip the fruit in sugar, they create a festive treat that mirrors the warmth and joy of the season, while learning the joy of hands-on creation and the value of sharing.

A Year of Courage and Joy

This playful journey, rich with mythical adventures and traditional customs, allows the children to experience the essence of Chinese culture, while building their courage and strength through fun challenges. Admission Application Procedure

Notes of Admission Application for 2026-2027 Kindergarten

1.Application Procedures

· The submission period for admission application will end on 7th March 2026.

· Parents are required to apply online by completing the application form on our website. Upon confirmation of your application (with candidate number), applicants will be invited to join the admission assessment which will be held in end of March 2026.

2.The assessment arrangements will be announced on our school website on 14 March 2026 (Saturday) after 6:00 p.m. Parents are required to make use of the “Candidate Number” of your child in enquiring about the arrangements.

Required Document (Upload via our online application system)

· Student’s recent colour photo (1.5 x 2 inch)

· Identity Document(s) of student (Copy)

· Copies of year-end school reports (If any)

· Student learning portfolio (If any): Recommendation letters, records of extra-curricular activities or awards

3.Proposed School fees

New Student school fees for the year of 2025/2026: CNY160,000 per year, payable in 2 installments.

4.Remarks:

· This is a solemn declaration: Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua  Xinyi Kindergarten did not entrust any individuals and organizations with student recruitment or promotion.
