On 12th November, Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua Xinyi School (PKXYS) unveiled its special programme - "Pui Kiu Xinyi Master Classes", and was honoured to invite Professor Cheung Man Chee Kenneth, Director of the University of Hong Kong - Shenzhen Hospital and Professor of Spinal Surgery of the Jessie Ho Foundation of the University of Hong Kong, to be the guest speaker for the inaugural lecture.

At the lecture, Professor Cheung Man Chee Kenneth, drawing on his extensive medical expertise and clinical experience, shared real-life stories from his own journey. Speaking on the topic of "How I Became a Professor at the University of Hong Kong", he offered insights into his academic and medical career, encouraging the students to pursue a career in medicine and make a difference in patients' lives with both compassion and skills. The audience responded enthusiastically, with frequent and thunderous applause.

PKXYS is the world's first cooperative school for the project "Application Research of AI-Assisted Scoliosis Screening System Based on Human Pose Estimation Technology in Adolescent Spinal Health Screening" led by Professor Cheung's team at the University of Hong Kong and the HKU-Shenzhen Hospital. Dr. FAN Yunli, a member of Professor Cheung's team and a senior physical therapist, delivered a medical lecture on scoliosis, systematically introducing the basic concepts, diagnostic methods, and treatment options of scoliosis to the teachers, students, and parents present. Using real-life case studies, Dr. FAN highlighted the profound impact of scoliosis on individuals' lives and the urgency of prevention and treatment. The lecture guided the audience to rethink their awareness of spinal health and reinforced the importance of valuing life.

The "Pui Kiu Xinyi Master Classes" programme aims to create an open, inclusive, and diversified platform for communication, bringing together experts, scholars, and prominent figures from various fields. With their profound insights and extensive experience, the lectures help students broaden their horizons and spark their thinking, cultivating brilliant talents for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and beyond.

As the inaugural event of "Pui Kiu Xinyi Master Classes" and one of the events in the series by the High-Level Medical Team: The University of Hong Kong, Professor Cheung Man Chee Kenneth's Spinal Disorder Treatment Team, this lecture enhanced the understanding of medical science among teachers, students, and parents, while also inspiring students to pursue careers in medicine.

Looking ahead, PKXYS will continue to uphold the educational philosophy of "Nurturing Brilliant Generations", persist in hosting the "Pui Kiu Xinyi Master Classes", and strive to build a world-class platform for the exchange of knowledge and wisdom, illuminating the bright futures of our students.
