Students Thrive at 4th Primary English Festival

On 19th December, the 4th English Festival was held successfully at Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua Xinyi School (PKXYS), with enthusiastic participation from all students. The event featured a diverse range of fun and creative activities, including song dedications, performances, and interactive games. It was a wonderful celebration of students' achievements in English and helped cultivate a vibrant learning environment that is sure to inspire even greater enthusiasm for the language.

A Student-Centred Celebration

The spotlight was on our students, giving them the opportunity to take the lead in every aspect of the event, from idea to execution. They came up with ideas for the activities, promoted the event through various channels, managed the game booths, and even hosted the performance gala! With guidance and support from teachers, students took charge of the organisation and coordination, ensuring everything ran smoothly. We are incredibly proud of their innovation, adaptability, and creativity, which were on full display throughout this remarkable occasion.

The morning activities were a delightful highlight of the festival. Students presented well-prepared English performances, while the fun booth games offered an immersive, interactive English experience for all participants.

Performance Gala

The thrilling performance gala took place in the school theatre, showcasing a variety of stunning performances. These included solo acts, musical renditions, poem recitations, a student flash mob, and a wonderful drama show by the school's English drama team. There were also joint performances by Grade 1 and Grade 2 students with their EPA show! The theatre was filled with laughter and applause as the curtain came down.

Booth Games

Our student ambassadors organised over 12 exciting games for their peers, including the Message Wall, Kahoot challenges, and many more! They designed game instructions, promotional materials, and prepared all the necessary supplies. With the help of an incredible team, the booths ran smoothly, offering students the opportunity to immerse themselves in a fun, English-speaking environment. This was a valuable experience for students to apply their knowledge and skills in a hands-on way, going beyond traditional assessments.

In-Class Carnival

The English festival activities took place in the class in the afternoon. To further promote the English learning atmosphere among classmates and share the joy of the festival, we organized activities such as English Spelling Bees, Visits from Secret Santa and Elf, and gift exchanges. While enjoying the fun of learning English, the classmates also received the surprises brought by the festival!

The English Festival - A Time to Shine

The English Festival provided a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their talents and celebrate their achievements in English.

It reminded everyone of the joy and value that learning English brings to our lives.

This event was truly a spectacular and meaningful occasion!
