The Sober One Behind the Madness: Fourteen Years of Marathon Behind Bars

Principal WEN shared with the students a heroic story from Red Rock. In the prison of the Jagged Cave, there was an "idiot" named HUA Ziliang who ran around all day long, covered in dirt. His real-life counterpart, HAN Zidong, had witnessed his comrades CHE Yaoxian and LUO Shiwen being taken to the execution ground. "Pretend to be crazy and live; be a messenger in the dark night!"—this was the last mission left to him by his comrades. For fourteen years, more than 5,000 days and nights, he used madness as a shield and guarded the spark of hope with silence.

Principal WEN's message: "True courage is not the raising of one's arms, but the persistence of simmering one's faith into a small stream of water in the darkest moments."

Heroes Are Never Far Away: There Are "Stars" Even in Ordinary Days

Travelling back to the present, the spirit of heroes is still alive:The lights in the laboratory never go out, as scientists work tirelessly to crack the "bottleneck" problems of technology.The hoarse voice on the three-foot lectern belongs to the teacher who pushes open the window of the world for rural children.The young man who helps up an elderly person who fell in a rainstorm is writing a small but bright legend.

Principal WEN's message: "Don't always look up to the superheroes in the sky. The flickering shadows of your eyelashes as you read and the beads of sweat on your forehead during athletic day are the most beautiful heroic narratives of this era."

The Principal's "Heroic Interest Lesson": The Art of War on the Chessboard, Mountains and Rivers on the Stamps

"The spirit of heroism is not only found in history but also in the love of life." During the sharing session, Principal WEN showed the students his own photographs, each reflecting his unique understanding of art and passion for life. The students were immersed in the artistic atmosphere, as if they could feel the stories and emotions behind the photos. Principal WEN's photos are not only a visual delight but also a touch to the heart. He captures the beauty of the world with his camera and tells silent stories through his photos, allowing everyone in the audience to feel the warmth and depth of life.

Opening a yellowed stamp album, Principal WEN revealed his personal collection of stamps for the first time. "These tiny pieces of paper with jagged edges are frozen fragments of history. Stamp collecting has made me realise that true heroes are like the 'stamps' of their time, passing on their beliefs to the future." Each stamp carries a piece of history, a story, and, like a messenger of time, they transmit information from the past to the present day, allowing future generations to glimpse into history. Principal WEN's stamp collection is not only a tribute to history but also a contribution to cultural heritage. Through these small stamps, he has shown students the richness of history and the diversity of cultures, sparking their interest in history and their thirst for knowledge.
