Swipe left or right to see more·As a pioneering school for educational integration in the Greater Bay Area, the growth of PKXYS has been made possible through the strong support and careful guidance of national authorities and the governments of both Shenzhen and Hong Kong. In 2021, The Honourable Mrs. Carrie LAM Cheng Yuet-ngor (GBM, GBS, JP), during her term as Chief Executive, witnessed the school's signing ceremony and inaugural opening ceremony. This year, she once again graced the school with her presence at the graduation ceremony of our second cohort, adding a meaningful and memorable chapter to the school's journey. PKXYS Supervisor Mr. TSANG Yok Sing extended his heartfelt thanks to Mrs. LAM for the tremendous support and warm care she has provided at every stage — from the school's planning and construction to its official opening — and congratulated the graduates on embarking upon new chapters in life, wishing them every success ahead. Mrs. LAM remarked that the establishment and growth of PKXYS represents a significant livelihood project under the collaboration between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. She described the school as a shining example of complementary strengths and mutual benefit between Hong Kong and the Mainland of China. She praised the graduates for their strong foundation in Chinese culture, outstanding language skills, multicultural background, and broad international perspective. Mrs. LAM encouraged the students to strive for a bright future, to stay true to the values instilled by their alma mater, and to carry with them a sense of responsibility to their home and nation. Eighty-eight graduates received their certificates from Mrs. LAM, stepping forward into the future with the hope and responsibility of helping to connect Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and China with the wider world.
Graduate representatives expressed heartfelt thanks to their teachers and loved ones, and all graduates presented bouquets to their parents in a touching gesture of gratitude. They then came together in song, performing "My Motherland" to honour the deep love and unwavering support they have received—from their country, their school, their families, and people from all walks of life—all of whom have played a part in helping them grow and flourish.
At the ceremony, students also delivered a series of vibrant and heartfelt performances to celebrate and honour the graduating class. In the final performance, the school's choir, string ensemble, and Chinese orchestra joined together to present the song "Our Home"—a moving reminder to the graduates that PKXYS is not only their alma mater, but also a safe harbour their hearts will always call home.
To mark the occasion, the school presented customized souvenirs, crafted to preserve the memories of this special day. This item is among the first creations from PKXYS's "Endless Creations, Timeless Memories" Programme—a collaboration between teachers and students that produced a collection of commemorative items rich in meaning and creativity.
In the interactive zone, graduates stamped their limited-edition school notebooks with PKXYS seals, and placed handwritten letters to their future selves into the "Future Post Office"—capturing the hopes and reflections of this moment, to be opened ten years from now. It was a thoughtful activity that reminded students to treasure the present and the people around them, while inspiring them to look ahead with imagination and purpose.
As a 16-year through-train international school offering education from kindergarten to senior secondary, PKXYS brings together the strengths of Chinese and Western education, as well as the shared resources of Shenzhen and Hong Kong. It is the only boarding school in China to simultaneously offer the mainland curriculum, Hong Kong curriculum, and international curriculum. It is also the first school in the Mainland of China to adopt an operational model aligned with Hong Kong's subsidised or direct subsidy scheme schools. This model has been coordinated by the Hong Kong Education Bureau and confirmed by the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation (HKCAA) through external evaluation. In addition, it is Shenzhen's first and only examination centre for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE).
In 2025, PKXYS continued to lead in fostering educational collaboration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. For a second consecutive year, the school served as a designated HKDSE examination centre on the Mainland, offering convenience to students following the Hong Kong curriculum. The school's academic excellence was further reflected in this year's university admissions: under the School Nominations Direct Admission Scheme (SNDAS), student CAO Wan Chup was accepted into The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to study engineering with an extended major in artificial intelligence—a pathway toward the frontiers of innovation. Our International Department also achieved outstanding results. All graduates from the first A-Level cohort and the second International Foundation Year (IFY) cohort received offers from QS Top 40 universities worldwide, with each student receiving an average of five offers from globally renowned institutions. These accomplishments not only highlight the strength of the school's teaching and global perspective, but also reflect the ambition, resilience, and hard work of our students.
Such achievements are made possible by the dedication of our students, the commitment of our staff, and the continued support of families and the wider community. Over the past year, the school has focused on building a rich trilingual learning environment, offering diverse academic and cross-disciplinary programmes, and continuously improving teaching quality. Here, students from across Mainland of China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan learn and grow together—exchanging ideas, fostering meaningful friendships, and becoming a new generation of compassionate, forward-thinking young people ready to thrive in the Greater Bay Area.
As the ceremony came to a close, our second cohort of Grade 12 graduates prepared to embark on their next chapter—carrying with them the blessings and hopes of their alma mater, and the courage and optimism to face the future. We are confident that, in the years to come, they will grow into pillars of society and contribute meaningfully to the continued prosperity of our country.
