As spring awakens the world and life bursts forth, Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua Xinyi Kindergarten welcomed its 2026 Teachers' Professional Development Day, designed to strengthen team cohesion, foster a harmonious atmosphere, and enhance professional skills. The event offered teachers a chance to recharge, refine their practice, and grow together—bringing both joy and professional development into one meaningful day.

All staff came together to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build collective strength. Framed by the theme "Enhancing Collaboration, Fostering Team Spirit, Empowering Professional Growth", the day blended professional training, outdoor experiences, teamwork exercises, and fun activities. It provided teachers not only with a platform for mutual learning and professional advancement but also with opportunities to relax, bond, and feel supported—so they can continue nurturing children's happiness with renewed energy and expertise.

A Day Full of Highlights

The programme featured five core segments, each carefully designed to inspire and energise: from professional development to nature walks, from shared meals to collaborative projects, and from playful movement sessions to unexpected surprises—ensuring teachers gained something meaningful at every stage.

Professional Growth in Action

Guided by Principal LUI and Director Sarah, the professional training focused on strengthening teaching skills, cultivating educational innovation, and reinforcing core professional values. Participants explored key challenges in daily teaching, exchanged practical strategies, shared insights from their own classes, and discussed emerging educational ideas. This exchange of experience and perspectives not only enhanced individual professional capacity but also elevated the overall quality of teaching at the kindergarten.

Spring Walks and Shared Moments

In the warmth of spring, teachers enjoyed a leisurely walk through Shenzhen North Station Central Park. With fresh breezes and the gentle stir of budding leaves, the walk offered time to refresh the mind and body, listen to birdsong, and enjoy the beauty of the season. Along the way, colleagues shared stories, exchanged insights, and strengthened friendships—quietly building team cohesion in the most natural way.

BBQ and Bonding

After the walk, the teachers gathered for a lively BBQ, a chance to replenish energy with delicious food and refreshing drinks. Sitting together, they shared casual conversation and laughter, leaving work behind and enjoying the warmth of the team. These moments strengthened friendships and reinforced the sense of community among staff.

Teamwork in Practice

Teachers transformed into "creative organisers", collaboratively preparing the space for the upcoming parent–child sports day. From planning the layout and arranging equipment to decorating and refining details, the staff worked together seamlessly, turning their care and creativity into a welcoming, joyful environment. This hands-on collaboration reinforced teamwork, ensuring that the children experience a memorable and nurturing event.

Movement and Celebration

The day concluded with a dynamic rhythm session led by teachers CHEN Mengran and LIAO Yanmei. To lively music, staff stretched, danced, and moved together, releasing stress and filling the space with laughter. The session ended with a group photo, capturing the warmth, camaraderie, and shared joy of the day—moments that will remain treasured memories for all.

Surprises and Continuing Joy

For those who wished to extend the fun, a karaoke session followed, allowing teachers to sing their hearts out and continue the celebration.

Spring is vibrant, but the journey is brighter when shared. The Teachers' Professional Development Day offered professional inspiration, personal renewal, and strengthened team bonds. It was a day of growth, joy, and connection—equipping every teacher to continue walking hand in hand along the path of early childhood education, nurturing children's colourful childhoods with love, skill, and dedication.
