"Ancient Chinese Bronze Civilization — The Flourishing Era of Bells and Tripods"

On September 18th, our school was honored to invite Mr. Qiao Wenjie, Director of the Academic Research Department of the Shenzhen Museum, to speak at the Moral Education Monthly Assembly for the middle school department. This meeting focused on the theme of "Ancient Chinese Bronze Civilization — The Flourishing Era of Bells and Tripods."

Mr. Qiao, with his profound and engaging tone, gradually unveiled the mysteries of bronze artifacts, a brilliant chapter in Chinese civilization. He guided the students through history, highlighting the extraordinary value and significance of bronze, emphasizing that these ancient and solemn objects are not only whispers of time but also indispensable gems in the treasure trove of Chinese cultural history. He explained the art of bronze through its types, shapes, designs, and craftsmanship, allowing students to appreciate its unique artistic charm.

Mr. Qiao further elaborated on how bronze artifacts subtly influenced the ritual and musical systems of ancient Chinese society. To enhance students' understanding and experience, Mr. Qiao skillfully employed modern technology, presenting a carefully crafted animation of ancient rituals. The video brought to life a rustic sacrificial scene, with bronze artifacts shining brilliantly in the interplay of light and shadow, as if they had traveled through time. Accompanied by exquisite charts and explanations, students deepened their understanding of bronze artifacts and cultivated an endless curiosity and longing for the stories behind these ancient objects.

Bronze artifacts are not only sacred objects in religious rituals but also symbols of national military power, witnessing the arduous journey of the Chinese people from ignorance to civilization and embodying their relentless pursuit of peace and prosperity. Through this vivid moral education meeting, students not only expanded their historical knowledge but also cultivated a deep love and respect for Chinese culture.
