Unleashing the "Guardian Secrets" of Emergency Tools —— K3 Safety Adventure

When emergency tools in classes are no longer just pictures or models, but real equipment that children can touch and use themselves, the K3 "Magical Little Tools" curriculum reaches its most exciting stage—an outdoor hands-on session. We took the children to the Longhua District Safety Education Base, uncovering the "guardian secrets" hidden in fire extinguishers and safety hammers! Every tool here has its own "superpower": fire extinguishers can put out flames with precision, and safety hammers can break emergency locks, acting as wise little guardians protecting life in danger. This visit went beyond a simple exhibition tour—it turned safety knowledge into skills the children could see, hear, practise, and remember. Let's follow their lively footsteps and see how this exciting adventure made "learning to protect yourself" a vivid lesson in growing up.

Exploring the Exhibition — Becoming Little Safety Explorers

Holding their teachers' hands and guided by professional instructors, the children became "little safety explorers", moving through the core exhibition areas in an orderly way. Every interactive display taught them how to use emergency tools, turning abstract safety knowledge into something tangible and memorable. Their curiosity quietly sparked a passion for discovery.

During an Earthquake — Learning Invisible Safety Skills

The adventure began at the Disaster Prevention Experience Hall. Entering the earthquake simulation room, the children were both nervous and curious. As the platform beneath them started to shake, they crouched down under their teachers' guidance, covering their heads with their hands, experiencing firsthand the importance of "drop, cover, and hold on". This immersive lesson brought disaster-prevention knowledge from books to life.

Lift Malfunction — Practising Calm Rescue

In the Public Safety Experience Hall, a realistic lift model took centre stage. Children took turns entering, learning that panicking during a lift malfunction is never the answer. Instead, they must press all the floor buttons and the emergency call button, waiting patiently for help. This "lift accident simulation" transformed their view of lifts—from fun "big toys" to tools that require careful use.

Home Safety — Becoming Food Safety Detectives

In the Home Safety exhibition, the "Food Safety Challenge" drew eager participation. Tables displayed various food models—sprouted potatoes, brightly coloured wild mushrooms, undercooked beans, as well as fresh apples and boiled eggs. Teachers guided the children to identify "dangerous foods": solanine in sprouted potatoes, toxins in raw ginkgo, and more. "Never touch wild mushrooms you don't know!" the teachers reminded them, and the children remembered. They also learnt to spot spoilt food: "Smell or colour changes signal danger." Many realised, "Before eating at home, we must check carefully—colourful doesn't always mean safe!"

Through visual aids, children also learnt about the dangers of throwing objects from heights—how even a small toy can become a hidden hazard—and about water safety, adding another layer of protection.

Travel Safety — Remembering School Bus Escape Steps

At the Traffic Safety Experience Hall, safety videos in a tram captured the children's attention. Seeing someone reach out of the window, they quietly reminded each other, "Don't do that!" During a school bus emergency drill, teachers guided them through simulated accidents, practising calm evacuation: semi-crouched, hands crossed over the chest, quickly stepping out. The children listened attentively, nodded, and committed every step to memory.

Firefighting Little Experts — Practising the Four-Step Fire Extinguisher Method

In the Fire Safety Experience Area, bright red displays and various equipment excited the children—they finally got to use the "magic fire extinguisher"! The instructor demonstrated the four-step procedure: lift, pull, aim, and press. The children quietly repeated and memorised the steps. When it was their turn, they gripped the extinguisher, aimed at the simulated flames with teacher assistance, and watched the "fire" go out. Their eyes sparkled with delight, and some cheered, "I did it!"

Smoke Escape — Mastering Low-Posture Evacuation

The most thrilling activity was the Smoke Escape Simulation. Smoke filled the dark corridor as children followed their teachers, covering their mouths and noses with wet towels, bending low, and carefully following walls and illuminated exit signs to safety. Emerging from the passage, each child's face glowed with pride.

Knot-Tying Skills — Learning the Double Safety Knot

At the Rope Skills station, the children watched the teacher's skilled hands tie strong knots. Though tricky for little hands, the foundations of self-rescue skills were laid.

Simulated Emergency Calls — Mastering the Three Key Points

In the 119 simulated call area, children queued to speak into the phone, saying clearly, "Hello, firefighters! This is the Longhua District Safety Education Base. There is a fire, and we are safe!" They even remembered to add, "Please come quickly!"—practising the three key points of emergency calls: state the address, describe the situation, and confirm safety.

Adventure Rewards — Becoming Little Safety Guardians

This laughter-filled and surprising safety journey was far more than simply learning about emergency tools. By participating in this immersive lesson, children transformed abstract textbook knowledge into hands-on skills they could remember and use in real situations. They learnt to stay calm in simulations and master safety techniques through playful interaction. We look forward to these little guardians cherishing every "emergency secret" they unlocked today, letting safety become a steady, warm protection as they grow—and carrying these valuable skills, may they move forward bravely and confidently into the future.
