Ride the Wind, Break the Waves; Ace Your Exams, Shine Your Name——2025-26 DSE Oath-taking Ceremony

On 25th February 2026, Pui Kiu Xinyi School's Grand Theatre was filled with warmth and anticipation as students gathered for the DSE Oath-taking Ceremony for Grade 11 and the DSE Blessing Ceremony for Grade 12. It was an occasion where aspirations were reaffirmed and commitments renewed, as the school community came together to witness another cohort of students make their solemn pledge for the future.

The ceremony began with a heartfelt address from Principal WONG, who offered his sincere encouragement to the Grade 12 students preparing to enter the examination hall. He urged them to hold firm to their goals and move forward with confidence as they entered the final stage of preparation.

A specially prepared video message followed, bringing together warm wishes from across the school community. On screen appeared thoughtful messages from members of the Principal's Office, sincere words of encouragement from Grade 12 teachers, reflections from alumni, and the bright smiles of younger students. Their voices came together like a moving chorus, each message carrying heartfelt encouragement — a collective expression of support from the entire school.

After the video, the Grade 12 students received unique name bead bag charm handcrafted by younger students. More than a simple name tag, each bag charm carried memories of the years spent learning and growing on campus, while also symbolising the many stars still waiting to be reached ahead. Through this small but meaningful gift, the school offered a tangible reminder that the students carry with them the support of their alma mater. May this warmth accompany them as they face the challenges ahead and strive for success in the DSE.

Student representative PEI, speaking on behalf of the Grade 12 cohort, then took to the stage. Reflecting on the meaningful years spent at Pui Kiu Xinyi School, the student expressed heartfelt gratitude to teachers for their guidance and to classmates for their companionship, while affirming the determination and confidence of the whole cohort as they prepare to face the DSE together.

The ceremony reached a highlight as the Grade 11 students stood and raised their right fists to take the oath in the presence of teachers and students. In firm and resonant voices, they pledged to approach their DSE preparation with dedication and determination, giving their very best in pursuit of their goals. The solemn oath echoed throughout the theatre, reflecting their courage to embrace challenges and carry forward the spirit of perseverance.

Following the oath, representatives of Grade 11 received star blessing bag charm, symbolising the passing on of knowledge, hope and aspiration. Each star represents a dream waiting to be realised. May these stars light their path in the coming year and inspire them to strive for excellence as they work towards outstanding results in the DSE.

The ceremony concluded with a group photograph of all students and staff, capturing a shared moment of pride and encouragement. With that, the 2025–26 DSE Oath-taking Ceremony at Pui Kiu Xinyi School came to a meaningful close.
