Exploring World-Class Universities and the Dual Charms of Learning and Culture
The 10-day UK study tour has come to a successful close, with 22 students from Grades 9 to 11 taking part. Our journey led us to some of the world's most prestigious universities, including King's College London (KCL), University College London (UCL), the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Imperial College London, the University of Oxford, and the University of Cambridge.
We explored historic campuses and also visited a state-of-the-art smart car factory—experiencing first-hand the power of modern technology. At Cambridge, students studied a range of subjects under the guidance of university professors, including Critical Thinking, Computer Science, Biomedical Sciences, and British History—perfectly blending "learning" with "exploring".
Outside the classroom, students immersed themselves in the academic and cultural life of the UK. They punted along the River Cam, took in the picturesque scenery, and enjoyed a Shakespeare play in the gardens of King's College—experiencing the rich cultural heritage and romantic atmosphere of Britain. One unforgettable highlight was dining in the historic college halls. Seated at long wooden tables, surrounded by stone walls and a deep sense of tradition, students found the experience to be more than just a meal—it was a moment of connection with the values and spirit of a world-renowned institution.
The final presentations were a joyful surprise. Teachers were impressed not only by the students' fluent English but also by their courage, passion, and creativity. Previously quiet students boldly shared original ideas; shy classmates gained confidence speaking in front of others. Team leaders guided their groups efficiently and effectively within tight timeframes. This kind of personal growth cannot be measured by marks—but it is among the most valuable outcomes of the tour.
For many, this was their first visit to Europe—and with it came challenges, from unfamiliar food to long journeys and the need to bond with new teammates. Yet, students rose to the occasion, showing enthusiasm, resilience, and a willingness to embrace every experience.

I am incredibly grateful to the teachers who led the trip and to my classmates for making this 10-day tour so unforgettable. It was my first time travelling such a long distance, and I had lots of worries at the start—difficulty communicating with locals and struggling with jet lag. But once I arrived, I realised I'd been overthinking. My classmates were warm and helpful throughout the journey, and whenever I didn't understand something, the locals were happy to explain. This trip wasn't just about discovering British culture and customs. I also gained so much academically from visiting top universities and, most memorably, experienced my first-ever formal dinner at the University of Cambridge. It was a truly rewarding journey in every sense.

When I arrived in Cambridge and wandered through its historic colleges and grand architecture, it felt as though time had slowed down. I especially cherished our morning walks to class—those quiet moments before the day began felt like a rare gift, letting me pause and take in the beauty around me. Everything in this foreign land was new and fascinating. The courage to explore came from our group—more like a family than a team—who created a safe and supportive environment, making me feel comfortable embracing the unfamiliar.
These ten days were not just visually stunning, but intellectually inspiring. What made it even more memorable were the thoughtful tour guides who explained every detail with care, the teachers who shared their own personal connections to the places we visited, and the genuine kindness of the British people. Every small scene, every passing moment, built a vivid picture of beauty in motion. The harmony between movement and stillness, between people and place, spoke volumes about Cambridge's warmth and inclusiveness.
Cambridge is a city where the past is steeped in tradition and the future glows with academic promise. Realising that, I, a small traveler, was also part of this world—living fully in the present—filled me with warmth and gratitude. I was awed by the city's splendour and moved by its simplicity. Between the two, I glimpsed the true breadth of life.
Though the trip lasted only ten days, the memories will stay with me forever. I'll never forget drifting down the River Cam, waving at visitors from around the world. In that moment, there were no borders—just genuine smiles and shared warmth. That was the moment the world came together.
